1- Great to have you on our blog. Please, introduce yourself?
I'm J Davon, artist, emcee, songwriter, lover of Hip Hop culture. Thanks for having me.

2- What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?
I was introduced to it early, my father came up in the 80s so of course I was exposed to all the early Hip Hop music. I used to ride around with my uncle in my father's Subaru with all the 90s hip hop at max volume. I also have an aunt whose a songwriter and she brought me to a studio session at a young age. All of that combined shaped me and sent me on this journey

3- Tell us about your new single. And what’s the story behind it?
This new single, Parade, is a goal being met for me. It's an exclamation point, it's me saying "nah I'm here, I check the boxes". Ski Beatz produced it so it's all also significant in that regard.

4- What makes your music unique? How would you describe it?
My sound has a feel, a texture to it. It's musical in regards to the production with me floating over drums sharing my life experiences. It's art imitating life.

5- What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
To always be prepared, always be working whether you're a writer, producer, it's like a ball player, Steph Curry is putting up jump shots everyday, as an aspiring music, you have to do something related to your craft as much as possible.

6- Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?
Such a wide range and in no particular order, Nas and Jay on their longevity an influence alone in Hip Hop. The Lox for their loyalty to their sound and the group itself. As far as future collaborations, I'd like to get some work in with Curren$y or Larry June, we'd cook up some dope, wavy vibes.

7- If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?
The message to supporters, fans etc is always thank you. It's so much music that we all have to filter through so when someone discovers mine and stays along for the ride its appreciated, so huge thank you!

8- What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?
I'm always working, I have some other releases planned some collaborative projects, more solo projects. That's the freedom of being independent I can release when I'm ready.
